*Zapping wand of resurrection on this thread*
I usually pray lawful gods and my favorite is Legifer. It's easy to get angel from him, since laterns are pretty much the most common items in Ivan. Scapies seems to hate me most, since she usually polymorphs me into something weak even when she is happy (once into a pork golem when fighting against Guugzamesh) and when I use chameleon whip she polymorphs my enemies into something really nasty...

To pray to scabies you really need some kind of polycontrol. If you have a ring it is no prob, if you don;t have a ring you can either let a few magic mushrooms grow on a level and get polycontrol by going in and out of the clouds or pray to infuscor with ESP and Telecontrol to get him to give you polycontol. Once scabies likes you well enough she will give you a ring of Polycontrol. It's lots of fun when she gives a whole level Leprosy (You sense a vile disease spreading)

I usually go with Loricatus and Mellis (as I've mentioned) but I'm going to have to try Scabies & Infuscor. They sound much more useful than I originally thought.

If you are going to pray to Infuscor you have two good choices - pray Mortifer to Mellis if you wan't Neerc Seulb or pray Infuscor to Loricatus. If you pray to only 2 Gods then you are not realizing you maximum religious potential.

Prayin to a God (or offering or reading a book) boosts your relation ship with that god and gods that are within one alignment unit. It has no effects on gods that are two alignment units away and has a deleterious effect on your relation ship with gods 3 or more units away. In practice what this means in that you can pick a central god and then pray to gods within 2 alignment units on either side. Eg., I usualy pick Silva as my central god and then can pray to Mellis, Loricatus, Silva, Sophos, Dulcis and Seges. Therefore, if you want to pray to Infuscor and Scabies, you could also pray to Cruentus, Nefas, Cleptia, Mellis and Loricatus (or swap Mortifer for loricatus). Of course if you pick mortifer it means just read his books and donate bones/skulls/scythes, eat human flesh etc.

Once you become champion of all these gods then you can start adding other gods within 3 alignment units of center, or you can move your center 1 and start praying to other gods.

Just to give you an idea of how much you can move around, I have become a champion of Cruentus and champion of Valpurus in the same game (but not at the same time). Note, the higher your wisdom the more of an effect praying/offering has and thus the easier it is to change your alignment/gods.

I used to like that before I realised you can easily get infected yourself.

Wow, a nice piece of info. I just assumed previously that it's something of a neutral/lawful/chaotic division system, but the exact mechanics are nice to know.

Today Infuscor was very friendly. I didn't know she can give wand of lightnings. She also gave me arcanite staff of wonderous smells +3. I have to try to pray Scabies again, I just have to get that whole level lepsory thing.

The whole level leprosy thing is especially fun in the zombie level (loads of baddies) or in New Attnam or even Attnam.

Right, now you killed me. Happy?

That would be a cool way to get the Justifier. Give Attnam Leprosy and get Petrus to chase you until his right arm falls off

Yeah. For tips on beating the game, people refer to you. For random crap like that, come to me

Uh, seriously though. Once I filled the cathedral with zombies in the hopes of scoring the Justifier easily. It didn't seem to be working, so I possessed him, killed and ate a zombie, possessed myself then checked him with a stethoscope. Nada.

eating a zombie doesn;t always give you leprosy. I know because i play with natural limbs and once accidently prayed to Silva instead of Seges and got a Dragon hide limb. I tried everything to get rid of it, I broke all my traps by setting them while stessed and getting my arm stuck - it didn;t lose a single hit point. Then i ate like 4 zombies and still didn't get leprosy!!!

I've eaten zombies intentionally before to get rid of shitty limbs (after praying to gods that are displeased with me - that is, somebody else prayed to a displeased god during my communal game :mad and it didn't get me leprosy.

Loricatus
Loricatus is actually a fun god to get -angry- at you, of all things. If you make him mad, he can, to my knowledge, only do two things to you:

Summon his angels/archangels (only if you make him -really- mad at you)

Or, much more likely, turn your weapon into banana flesh. Which you can then eat.

He'll only turn one thing at a time though, and I think right hand is the priority. Still a funny way to pick up some extra food, though. I tend to pray to loricatus 2-3 times in a row whenever I do; the first time for a positive effect (+1 weapon, repair, limb restoration, etc.) then the rest I equip a single high weight junk item and get him to make it food.

Loricatus can smite you if you piss him off enough. I know because I did it once when dying of hunger.

Are you sure you are not thinking of Legifer? He smites you with righteous fire.

After all this time... It is done.

Petrus is, in fact, not immune to leprosy. Infect away boys, I see a nugget town in future...
