I know we\'ve discussed this, but I want a central location for how to get permanent stats.

Telecontrol - 3 blink dogs
ESP - 3 floating eye corpses

Haste - tame mystic dark frog
Invisibility - tame mystic dark frog

Invisibility - how many zaps with wands does it take?

Too many to be easily feasible, the first kick is about getting a lucky drink from a fountain.

I guess permanent invisibility isn\'t that great of an idea anyway, if you still want to buy from stores.

You\'re forgetting something - paying is for visible persons. Picking up stuff is not restricted...

BDR

It\'s considered theft if you take stuff without paying for it, though. And they will know it\'s you even if you don\'t lose your invisibility. And anyone with infravision available to them (which includes Decos, Petrus, and the elite guards) will head straight for you.

Yeah, but... But... Victory without killing Petrus is fake anyways!

Well, winning at all is a bug, so I don\'t quite see your point.

You need at least 3 blink dogs, but you have to eat them all at once. Quite easy. The same goes for ESP, 3 floating eyes in a row will grant you perma ESP, try to save their corpses untill you have 3. Just leave them in a level you don\'t stay too much so they don\'t spoil.

For invisibility and haste, I usually get it from resurrected/tame mystic dark frogs, if you stay near them they keep on casting haste & invisibility on you and your allies. It takes quite a long time, though.

To get permanent invisibility from wands you need 45/46 shots of it on hand. For permanent haste from wands, you\'ll need more like 67/68 shots of it on hand. In terms of how many wands this will take, you\'re looking at about 8 6-shot wands or 10 5-shot wands for invisibility, and 12 6-shot wands or 14 5-shot wands for haste.

So yeah.. unless you\'re willing to spend that wand of cloning on your wand collection and you actually have the wands to reach those numbers, you\'re not getting this from wands alone.

Thanks for the exact math, I was pretty sure that was about the idea of it.

Batman?

I think Ive asked this before, If you get a permanent effect from the methods listed above, does it appear in blue like the effects from items, or does it appear in white like temporary effects, but simply never expire?

BDR

It appears in white for a certain amount of time, and then it changes to blue. This is basically because what you\'re really doing is juicing yourself up past the point on the clock where the devs said \"we gotta pick a spot here for permanent state, this here looks good\" and then waiting for the timer to wind down to the sweet spot.

I ate two floating eye corpses + two mirrored floating eye corpses and didn\'t reach permanent ESP Is it because they were mirrored? Or is 4 not enough?

Sometimes a fountain + one corpse worked, so it seems You had bad luck, mate...

I recently started playing IVAN again and I ate 3 floating eye corpses not exactly one after the other but not much time passed between them either and got perma ESP. So it\'s not necessary to eat them exactly one after the other, but it seems 2 is not enough, you need at least 3 and in your case I guess you didn\'t get it because 2 were mirrored. Also note that the stat will stay white for quite some time until it becomes blue.

Yes, thanks, I had another game after that one where I ate 3 and got perma-esp.

Yes they can become permanent, you just need to spend a lot of time around the mystic dark frog that keeps casting his spells on you (although you are not adviced of this) if you pay attention you can see a small animation on yourself when the mystic dark frog casts a spell on you.

You probably don\'t want perminant invisibility though...

Also I did this before with light mystic frogs, they cloak and speed you too.

Although monster level increases while being invisible it can be very helpful to avoid or kill kamikaze dwarves and golems safely, or avoid killing tons of zombies when a master necro shows up. I kind of like being invisible all the time.

Oh yes, by the time you want perma invisibility, you should have bought all you will need from the library and shop in Attnam. The shop in GC is not a problem as you will sooner or later kill all those bastards.

There are other problems than just the stores. For example pets cant follow you down stairs when you\'re invisible. That and the monster levels that you know about. Overall I think it\'s useful but also not something I want to be unable to turn off.

Pets with infravision or esp can follow you when invisible.

Shopping is perfectly doable if you just polymorph into something visible while in the shop

Yea I think by the time you\'ve reached the mystic dark frogs you should\'ve bought everything you needed and milked them for their cash. It is nice to avoid the dwarves and zombies. I usually don\'t have pets, I only tame things to sci-talk them.

I recently killed Oree for the second time, clearing every level and believe me that you need invisibility to do this, specially for the kamikaze dwarves and zombies. After killing Elpuri, past the portal, things get nasty and you can\'t be visible.

The damage the kamikaze dwarfs can do is a set amount, not affected by anything but the proximity to the explosion and the amount of explosives the dwarf is carrying, so if you have a highly enchanted cloak of fire resistance (which I always do due to mines in GC) and maybe some rings of fire resistance you should be ok for kamikaze dwarves unless you get mobbed by them or are being an idiot and carrying combustibles around without a chest.
Personally I found the Orcs and Golems more of a problem.

Then again all that goes to crap when the mystic dark frogs appear and proceed to magically strip you of all your equipment and/or debuff it.

Also on the topic of permanent stats: permanent invisibility + being polymorphed into a golem of a decent material = win.

You buy things from the library?

I actually do, I don\'t use the kick-stuff-from-the-library-then-sell-it-again trick.

I buy from the library because I want to save the scrolls for when they\'ll really be useful, and by that point I have more gold than I know what to do with.
