What say you, should I take time and remove some of the most fishy looking members we\'ve got? 50%-75% of the people registered here haven\'t posted a single post, which is kind of worrying...

We could also have a welcome thread here somewhere to which you should post something if you don\'t want to get deleted.

I know there should be a comma in that sentence.

Oh my god, that a spambot if I ever saw one!

I hope they post in this thread if they don\'t want to get deleted. I\'d like to know what\'s the reason to register on a forum and never post there. Maybe they want to access the spam section? I register on a forum only when I want to post.

I guess they just want some Ivan hints.

I say leave them be. They are definitely not spam bots if that\'s what you\'re worried about.
Maybe they joined and then discovered the spam section and decided not to post
Anyways, any forum on the net will have inactive members. Makes no sense to me either but they\'re harmless

Yes, spambots are what I\'m concerned about. What makes you know they\'re harmless?

I doubt that they\'re bots. If they ARE bots, we can take the necessary action, and then maybe start taking preliminary actions, but beyond that, I say we leave them be until any possible bots make their move. What harm could be done?

Does anyone here actually think a spambot would come to this forum?

We\'ve been surprised before.

Because a spam bot would\'ve posted spam by now. And had fishy locations/interests besides just the username. And the captcha to register is practically unbeatable.

I must side with the above. We\'re safe... For now.

What if they\'re coded to go off at the same time in the near future? It\'s not that hard to do, believe... *hums Paranoid*

Well the funny thing is, since this isn\'t phpbb or vbulletin or one of the popular forum softwares, the bots probably don\'t know how to post spam

That, my friend, has made all my fears go away. Cheers for cap, the creator of our most-probably bot-resistant board!

Erno,

Just because you\'re paranoid doesn\'t mean the spambots aren\'t after you!!!

I\'m still here, just looking around the forum from time to time to see if something new has shown up

Hello everyone! I just wanted to post about how much I love IVAN. I think it\'s great. Almost as great as the money I can save you on your mortgage rates.

They\'re here, the spambots are here!

You gotta be kidding me! I cleaned it up and deleted the user.
At least, haha, the spam was about world of warcraft... weird
Anyways I thought this captcha was invincible! apparently not. I hope this doesn\'t become common.

lol.. JoKe is like the town crier proclaiming the end of the world to the villagers try to keep it down JoKe or they\'ll panic and form a mob, and come after me

Speaking of which, I dug into the wiki just now and noticed a number of spam articles.

Ah, it would appear that JoKe has gained a title. See the appropariate thread for more.

Oh wow, I didn\'t know wikis can be spammed!

Anyway. I will now take actions in case there\'s another bot out there calling for friends.

I think the forum is still pretty safe for now. If more start coming, I\'ll try to create my own \"captcha\" quiz first. (Something like, what is the background color of the banana pickaxe logo? Answer: red). That will be easy for people to solve but the bots won\'t know how to since it\'s custom.

Unfortunately the wiki is not so safe.. I deleted all the spam bots, and they are all from around January 8-9, and there haven\'t been any since then so maybe we just got unlucky. You have to be registered to post on the Wiki already and that\'s obviously not stopping them. Not really sure what we can do about the wiki besides keep watch

This might come in handy for the wiki and the forum.
