To top it all off, in UT3 I ran into a Bones file. Not the best items, but there was another scroll of charging.

Noooooo!!! The same character was up to 35 Dex without any training, had dual whips of thievery +12, still had 2 scrolls of charging and a wand of cloning with 3 charges. Was kicking ass but only had 54 HP and died instantly from a hattifattener's lightning bolt And he's in UT2, there's no way I'll ever come across his bones.

Did he, in fact, leave a bones?

UT1 is the no-bones zone, not UT2. I've had a fair number of UT2 bones levels in my game, so have no fear about not getting access to the stuff again!

Well, if I ever did come across his Bones, there's no way I'd be powerful enough that early in the game to kill his ghost.

Wands of lightning, perhaps? Or wands of striking/polymorph (on you, not the ghost).
