Greetings fellow IVANers and hopefuly people who beat Elpuri.

As far as I recall, winners usually had their strength in : artificial limbs, wands of striking, awesome equipment, beacuse of scumming on ommel cerumen. And I want a no-cerumen, no-artificial-limbs win.

Did anyone win with the help of his team?

I just cleared NEARLY EVERYTHING down to GC8. Even the zombie level. I actually have to look for anything to kill, and still it's usually a golem.

I have an elite guard (brag : also had a 600 hp one but he exploded :/ ), a mistress torturing chief, Ivan and Vladimir. I plan to, of course, rush and kill Elpuri, with the team taking care of the froggies. Is it possible?

1. As I asked before - is it possible (and a good idea)?
2. My equipment sucks bad. I post links to my equipment and the chest where I keep my scrolls - how can I make my equipment outwardly pimped having so few scrolls?

3. Do octiron golems kick ass? I have 2 beartraps and a shield ( butwould rather give it to the guard... Amidoinitrite?) to make them.
4. How about I pray until I get an angel of Loricatus and bring it in?
5. Is giving two chameleon whips to a mistress a good thing or not?
6. Maxing out END before the fight - do it or don't?
7. Throwing all those wands of fireballs through the corridor and then detonating them... good idea or bad idea?
8. Any further tips on Elpuri?

How about wishing for an wand of cloning or mirroring (the latter is more efficient, you can get 6 scrolls instead of 5), and changing your eq into ommel tooth (has a low INT requirement and is one of the best materials in the game). That and overenchanting stuff would help you significantly

Option 1: use the scroll of wishing to get wand of cloning.
Clone: 2 ommel urines + Change material + harden material + either the snot, or an enchant armor.

If the wand has more than one charge do
4 ommel urines + harden

If wand has 3 charges, keep going but also use the scroll of charging.


Drink the ommel urine as necessary until you are no longer stressed, or run out of urine.
Use 2 enchant armors on the helm of brilliance taking you to 25 int.
use 3 hardenings on cloak to phoenix feather, guantlets to phoenix feather, and helmet to mithril
use change material on the belt to ommel tooth
use change material on one of the metal chests to floating eye flesh incase the mystic frog steals your amulet.
use enchant armor on your cloak and weapon on vermis

transfer healing liquids to cans
drop all of your wands except 1 teleport (maybe one striking as well but be sure to get rid of it before elpuri breaks it) Melee elpuri with you and your team. The teleport wand will break...use it to go back to your stash get a couple new wands, heal up, repeat.


Option 2: Wish for a holy banana
lead elpuri to a long corridor teleporting a bit out of reach when ever he gets close. drop all of your damaging wands in one square. teleport to end of coridor...when Elpuri gets on top of wand pile zap with holy banana until dead or out of banana charges.
Eat banana to raise all stats by 2.

Either of those would probably work but #2 is a bit more satisfying.
Depends on whether you are looking for the elpuri ending or planning on trying for Oree. If you are going on then #2 wastes a whole bunch of wants.

An octiron golem and an angel would help greatly, I think. Don't go for the chameleon whips though. There's a greater chance of it polymorphing the enemy into something stronger rather than weaker. If you can do it without taking out your pets, using the wands is a good idea too.

Though, I've never even gotten up to Elpuri legit, so don't take my word on it

Is he more dangerous at a distance or close combat? Also, any danger of poly?

Of course I'm not going in yet, write me some more.

He can't do anything far away, but his mystic dark frog and assorted necromancers/mages can. Just kill him quickly is all I can say.

Oh, and make sure you don't have ANYTHING explosive on you, even in a chest. He will break it.

I tinkered with my stuff, also found some post-darkknight goodies and gave them to Carl II FAKA Rob (my elite guard), found out my mistress t-chief had some +6 whips, ressurected the leper, Ivan, and checked if my mystic light frog was ok.

We went down, and got electrocuted. I went to the front and threw my wands to the end of the corridor. Advanced, took them and did the same on the next corridor, but there were actually some greater & giant froggies! I threw the wands (and hurt them doing so), and detonated them with a zap from the holy banana. Next thing, a diamond, an ommel tooth and octiron golems came. My mistress took one apart, same for my guard who was rushing to the frogs. Ivan was teleported somewhere. Then to the left, from some broken walls came Elpuri himself! I zapped him with the banana and teleported him away (which is stupid?) since I was scared! After taking care of the frogs, and the mystic one, I summoned an octiron golem and went looking for my team. The mistress was lost, somewhere far. Carl was dead, his equipment out of place. I ressurected him and gave him my spare sword (carry them in case of teleporting Your fav wep), and some armor from the mistress. I then wanted to call them at the stairs with my magic whistle, but it was gone! I rushed alone to get the slave from Attnam and Vladimir. We rushed in, killed a couple more golems, and I was looking for Elpuri... Only to find him dead in a place where I had saw an explosion before (probably vodka from Ivan's inventory...). Ivan was also dead, and unresurrectable, his flesh scattered in an acid/explosion related accident...
Later I found out that Danny was here, too! I took a couple of shots at him with the rest of the banana, unsuccessfuly (ouch) set an octiron beartrap, zapped him with a fireball from a wand I found here, lightning, striking etc. and even took a swing at him at close combat but he was still to strong. I backed out with a teleport, healed up and fled with my golem. The flight was easy since we destroyed everything, almost literally - I mean, only a lion once in a while?! I offered lotsa goodies to Loricatus by the way so I was his champion, too. Then I went to Petrus and voila. Minor win. Still unsatisfied .

I think I have proven, that venturing with a team is good. I could also get an angel, I think . But next time I'm doing it with "awesome wolves"...

Nice.You've inspired me to try to get to Elpuri.Or at least beat my previous record of getting to GC 4...Yeah...

Way to go, dude. Next time go for a better ending.

I might have an idea how to kill Elpuri without awesome over-enchanted gear.

1. Get to GC8. This might be one of the hardest parts. Really! Not sure though

2. Get friends with Vladmir and Ivan (OPTIONAL)

3. Go to the Dark Level. Don't let Ivan or Vladmir follow you. Find Elpuri, and run back to the stairs with him.

4. Go back to GC8. Make sure Elpuri follows you.

5. Find Vladmir and Ivan. Magical Whistle will help a lot.

6. Kill him. You shouldn't have horrific problems getting him down by 3.

7. Celebrate! You have killed Elpuri, and everyone is jeallious. *gg*

You're underestimating Elpuri. He's a strong mofo and will destroy you without some decent gear.

Not to mention that getting him to the stairs without any of his 20 frogs or 50 orcs would be impossible.

You can get vlad and ivan to follow you down the stairs. There is no need to lure elpuri up them.

Yeah but I have got him up the stairs once, and my brother too and bro got only 1 other frog with him.

Well, slowing Elpuri might help, but remember that Ivan and Vlad don't like to retreat, if You'd like them to follow You up while fighting someone...
