Training Charisma
on the walkthrough on the wiki it mentions training Cha in New Attnam, other than talking to richel D is there a way to train CHA naturally?

every time you talk to someone it trains your charisma. This includes buying and selling items. If you are the vain type and need to have high charisma then praying to mellis with empty bottles will often get you ommel fluids and ommel tears are the most common (boosts perception and charisma)

Unfortunately, there's little point in doing so because currently you need a stupid amount for it not to be utterly useless.

Charisma is pretty useless but ommel tears are nice because of the perception boost, and you might as well look pretty too

Yeah, as I recall the game is balanced currently so when you have 100 CHA an items buy price will roughly equal it's sell price. Unfortunately this means that each point lowers buy prices by something like ~0.5% and raises sell prices by the same.

Is Charisma used for anything other than determining shop prices?

Is it? Considering the only methods of charming are magical. Still I could see Charisma playing a part.

Looking good is probably the most important part of charisma though. There's nothing quite like the feeling of strutting through a dungeon splattered with the blood of the monsters you have dismembered and knowing that you look good doing it. Think of Bruce Campbell in Army of Darkness: "All right, who wants some? You want some?"

If you guys are too young to have seen this classic I highly recommend you hit the video store. (or download it you theiving little bastards!)

Army of Darkness! Fuck yeah ! slob++

I'd say raising charisma up to 15 is valuable, but that's because it helps improve Int and Wis with Richel Decos .

Charming monsters? Well relations with Dulcis affect it, I never actually thought charisma does. But! Can be!

I agree that talking in general trains Cha. I always get a boost while talking with Haathbar, or farmers, so it seems legit.

As for shopping, it's way quicker to have a bit more favourable shop prices by polymorphing into one of Petrus' wives. IIRC, number 6 has 80 Charisma. It only takes a ring of poly and some polycontrol, so it's not much of a struggle.

Well I assume that a bolt has a given, numeric, amouunt of perwer. (assi in enegri)... unless it's LAERSER SKISKLS POEWN PEWN!

Someone ought to code-dive and see if charisma has anything to do with taming. I myself am doubtful.

ummm. I don't know how that is supposed to be done when all item drops are pretty much random, and when you get out of underground caves you have to spend all your money on food just not to die. where am I supposed to find these rings?

You're doing it wrong if you have to spend all your money on food. Do you eat animal corpses? Do you look at the world map before blindly trying to find the city?

Being friends with Silva or Seges (or even Loricatus or Cruentus) and not walking while stressed helps.

If You are starving and happen to come upon a wish, it MAY be worthwhile to spend it on a holy banana. Saved me a couple of times!

food
yeah, I do eat corpses (not all of them . not kobolds, or zombies or spiders) but I buy as many bananas as I can right off the bat just in case I cant find food in the tunnel. I try to stay bloated whenever possible. as far as praying, I am still trying to get used to using the system effectivly.

I suppose that praying to a god in no sooner than 3 hours (a seperate timer for each god) consecutively is a rule of thumb that works in most cases.

Bloated is bad. You lose AGI. Better off being satiated, at most.

The only reason to be bloated is if you're trying to gain leg strength by loading yourself down with random crap. Even then, the goal is of dubious worth since while you will be able to hold more stuff at once burdened/stressed state gives you severe combat penalties (-25% while burdened, -50% while stressed) which means it's going to be rather harder to stay alive even if your satiation is well-kept. Better to just learn to travel lightly; your satiation will not decrease nearly as fast while unburdened as it will when you're stressed, and you won't suffer from stat abuse by being bloated.
